Since its founding in 2006, the Nordic Light International Festival of Photography, has established Kristiansund as a key meeting place for photography, bringing together world-renowned photographers and enthusiasts to explore visual storytelling. Over the years, the festival has hosted prominent guests such as Martin Parr, James Nachtwey, and Bruce Gilden, providing both established and emerging photographers the opportunity to showcase their work and share experiences.
The program is varied and extensive, including lectures, exhibitions, gallery talks, book signings, portfolio reviews, and film screenings. This broad approach has created a vibrant photography community, attracting participants from around the world to the charming coastal town of Kristiansund.
