In 2013, it became a reality when the world's best players took over Stavanger. They have done so every year since then. Today, it's safe to say that Norway Chess has managed to become one of the world's most recognised and prestigious chess tournaments. Every year, the chess elite meet in Stavanger to take part in this action-packed tournament, and for many players it is perhaps the most attractive tournament they attend. Through Norway Chess, Stavanger has become one of the world's chess capitals.

Head to Finansparken in Christen Tranes gate 35 in Stavanger to experience this live. Tickets are sold at the door, no pre-registration required. If you're not in Stavanger, you can follow the broadcasts on TV 2 sport and on chess.com.

During last year's tournament, Norway Chess reached 4 million viewers via national TV in Norway alone.
