In the spring of 2026, Prøverommet will appear every month in different venues. In March, Prøverommet will collaborate with Atlas Intiatief – an old fishing boat converted into a research vessel dedicated to helping artists carry out artistic projects at sea. The program will offer everything from visual art to live performances that can also be experienced from land. The projects presented focus on aquatic ecologies, the ocean and its sounds, and the relationship between body, water, and weather.
Prøverommet has been running since 1998, originally in BIT's former venue Teatergarasjen for 10 years, now popping up at various venues throughout the seasons. It's a low threshold environment to try out new artistic material in front of an audience using any medium: dance, theatre, poetry, visual art, music… The programme is open to participate in and attend, with at least 10 events per year. Almost 2500 projects have been presented so far!
