Romsdalsvinter

Romsdalsvinter is a winter festival held in Åndalsnes in Rauma municipality, Møre og Romsdal. The festival is the winter season edition of the well-known Norwegian Mountain Festival, and is aimed specifically at those who love winter mountains, mountaineering and active outdoor life in steep terrain.

The festival takes place in early March, and the next edition will take place from 5 to 8 March 2026. It brings together outdoor enthusiasts from all over the country – both experienced and beginners – for a weekend filled with mountaineering, courses, lectures and socializing.

Romsdalsvinter offers a wide range of activities, with a particular focus on mountaineering on skis, safe travel in the mountains in winter, and avalanche competence. You can sign up for guided tours, take a course in winter climbing or learn more about safe travel in avalanche-prone terrain. There are also special offers for girls and youth, as well as child-friendly activities.

The festival emphasizes safety and learning, while also emphasizing social and nature experiences. In the evenings, lectures, a communal dinner, a sauna and good opportunities to connect with other mountain enthusiasts are arranged.
