David Bowie’s fiercest Norwegian tribute is back!
SCARY MONSTERS is one of the few bands in Norway dedicated exclusively to interpreting David Bowie’s unparalleled musical legacy – a catalogue spanning five decades and a significant part of pop and rock history.
The band originated in Bergen and performs regularly across Western Norway. Every January they sell out Madam Felle over two nights, a cherished tradition for the local audience. They’re also a favourite among promoters, already booked to return in 2026 to well-known stages such as the legendary Kafé K in Porsgrunn, Ogna Scene by Sirevåg, and Iris Scene in Odda.
“We approach Bowie’s musical universe from a rock perspective and interpret the songs in our own way,” says bassist Frank Hovland. In 2025, the band entered the studio and recorded seven Bowie tracks as demo material. The result was so strong that they received permission to release the recordings on all streaming platforms.
