The concert opens with Francis Poulenc's intense one-act opera Menneskerøysta, in which Norwegian soprano Karen Vourc'h gives a dramatic and vulnerable portrayal of a woman alone on the telephone with her former lover.
Afterwards, the temperature is turned up with excerpts from Bizet's world-famous Carmen, with arias and suites offering Spanish passion, drama and unforgettable melodies.
