Edvard Grieg's powerful and passionate A minor concerto will be performed with pianist Christian Ihle Hadland as soloist.
Get into the music: welcome to a free introduction to the work with Ulf Rosenberg in the VIP room on the 5th floor at 6:30 pm.
Grieg revised the work several times throughout his life. The final version from 1907 is considered one of the world's most popular piano concertos, known for its warmth, lyrical beauty and Norwegian folk tunes. Ludwig van Beethoven and Jean Sibelius' symphonies were important sources of inspiration for Walton's First Symphony. Symphony No. 1 is grand and dramatic and marks an important chapter in English symphonic music.
