Eva, Morten, Simen and Thomas love Christmas. And they love jazz
In 2022, after several years in a row with their traditional Christmas concert in Stavanger, these four recorded a long-awaited Christmas album with their own unique arrangements of some of the finest Christmas songs we have. Grappa Music Publishing was responsible for the release. The album received fantastic reviews and was named the best Christmas album of the year by the renowned music magazine Lira. It was also mentioned as one of the best Christmas albums of the year by both Dag og Tid and Dagens Næringsliv. It sold out in all stores in December of the same year and was streamed over 50,000 times on various streaming services during the first week.
In the following years, they have released several singles and are frequently played on NRK P2 Jazz every Christmas. For the past three years, they have also filled St. Petri Church in Stavanger with their concert, and last year they received a 6 out of 6 rating for this concert from Stavanger Aftenblad itself!
When darkness falls again, the quartet will hit the roads of Western Norway, arriving in Egersund on 17 December. As Leif Tore Lindø in Stavanger Aftenblad said about the album release concert in 2022: ‘If you go and are not satisfied, I'll refund you the cost of the ticket.’
And, to mark this year's tour, they are releasing a brand new full-length album!
It is unpretentious. It is atmospheric. It is playful.
It is vocals, guitar, trumpet and double bass.
It is tradition and improvisation.
It is familiar and unfamiliar.
