Veslemøy Narvesen is one of the most active young voices on the Norwegian music scene today. Her critically acclaimed album We Don't Imagine Anymore launched her solo career, and expectations are high for what comes next.
Drawing on a broad range of genres, Veslemøy Narvesen creates music that challenges and moves with fearlessness. Her sonic universe is inspired by musical extremes, ranging from Nordic piano-trio jazz to dialect-based singer-songwriter traditions. The music unfolds as a unique and diverse contribution to the Norwegian music scene, marked by a sophisticated blend of pop and improvisation.
As a versatile drummer, Veslemøy can be heard with bands such as Mall Girl, Schemes, Dafnie and the Benjamin Gisli Trio, as well as in collaborations with musicians including Mette Rasmussen, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Anja Lauvdal and British ECM artist Kit Downes.
Her debut album, We Don't Imagine Anymore, was released on Jazzland Recordings in October 2023 and received a warm reception. Aftenposten named it one of the year’s best Norwegian albums, and Audun Vinger described it as “the finest Norwegian album of the autumn” in Dagens Næringsliv.
Several major milestones followed in 2025, including collaborations with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), a festival concert at Øya, and — not least — new music. Most recently, the single Rules.
In January, audiences will experience Veslemøy Narvesen’s musical universe in a stripped-down format, featuring Narvesen on piano, vocals and electronics, Anna Ueland on synth and vocals, and Håkon Brunborg on violin.
