“It’s boiling inside Woman R’s head. Should she try stand-up comedy?
What if she created a choreography from the rhythm running through her head:
dewappa wappa wham wham? And what is really happening to her body – is it shrinking?
Woman I is brought in, and together they set a performance in motion.”
“før kolibri hegre nå” is a performing arts work in development. It is an interdisciplinary scenic exploration where text meets choreography, moving between genres and themes through text and dance in a humorous, poetic landscape.
The project has a life-affirming approach to making art, is rooted in the strength of community, and focuses on women’s health, menopause, the changing body, motherhood and belonging.
Over the past two years, actor Ragnhild Mønness and dance artist Isabell Gisselgård have worked regularly to develop text and choreography towards a performance. They now have a residency and writing workshop at TOU Scene, supported by Rogaland County Council, Dramatikkens hus and TOU Scene.
A warm welcome to an insight into the work and a work-in-progress showing of “før kolibri hegre nå”.
