At Vingarden på Jølst, the fruit wine producer Vestavin is working to transform West Norwegian berries, fruits and flowers to fruit wines that suit the modern palate. Founder Camilla Aasen is also hard at work transforming what used to be an old, abandoned farm into a fruitvineyard, in an attempt to demonstrate how these steep, little farms can be developed into something new.
Guided tours at Vingarden at Jølst
During July and August of 2023, Vingarden på Jølst opens three days a week. At 2 pm om Thursday, Friday and Saturday Camilla opens Vingarden at Jølst with a guided tour of the grounds and production facilities and a tasting of selected fruit wines from Vestavin's own production. Non-alcoholic tasting also available.
Vestavin and Vingarden på Jølst both arise from founder Camilla's desire to find new ways of utilising the various resources that thrive in the west of Norway. She will welcome you and show you the farm, share her plans, ambitions and the passions that drive them, and also her knowledge of the raw materials and production methods. Throughout the summer, there will be different fruit wines to be tasted, as new products are released for sale.
Tour and tasting lasts for 1 to 1,5 hours. From 3.30 pm to 5 pm the farm shop is open, where it will be possible to buy fruit wines, non-alhocolic beverages and other local goods.
