Gamleposten 5444 – Creating Magical Moments
Gamleposten 5444 on Espevær is a dining venue that serves locally inspired flavours and stories. Its vision is rooted in local traditions, history, and tastes that bring genuine joy through food. Siblings Silje, Rollaug, and Torstein grew up on Espevær and have always felt a strong connection to their home island. They founded Gamleposten5444 in autumn 2015 and purchased the old homestead at Garden in November that same year.
At Gamleposten, experiences and menus are tailor-made in collaboration with you.

Opening Hours
Gamleposten’s main season runs during Easter and throughout the summer. However, the restaurant is open once a month year-round.
In addition, it welcomes group bookings throughout the year.
SUMMER SEASON 2025 OPENING HOURS
(WEEKS 26–32)
- Week 26: Saturday, 28 June – 3, 5, and 7-course menus from 17:00. Table reservation required.
- Week 27: Friday and Saturday – 3, 5, and 7-course menus from 17:00. Table reservation required.
- Weeks 28, 29, and 30: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday – 3, 5, and 7-course menus from 17:00.
(On Friday, 25 July – Week 30 – there will be a festival on the island. More information will be shared by the organiser and Gamleposten 5444.) - Week 31: Friday and Saturday – 3, 5, and 7-course menus from 17:00. Table reservation required.

Transport Options
The boat Venemøy is available for late departures from Espevær upon request or for transport to other destinations.
In July, Venemøy departs Espevær around 23:00 every evening if guests require transport.
