From Elvetorget to Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum
The walk begins at Elvetorget, where you head towards the Sogn og Fjordane Art Museum. The museum features changing exhibitions ranging from local talents to internationally recognized artists – always something new to see! The building itself is also very photogenic.
Reflections from the Bridge
Capture the river, the light, and the reflections from one of Førde’s bridges. Here, the water and the town meet in a beautiful, harmonious frame.
Photo Stop at the Torsheim Statue
As you walk through Førde Park, we recommend stopping by the Oddvar Torsheim statue. The artist grew up in Rovde and Naustdal and later settled in Førde. Torsheim is a Norwegian painter, illustrator, and graphic artist, known for his satirical and distinctive works that left a lasting mark on Norwegian art.
Enjoy Førde Park and Capture Charming Motives
Along Førde Park, you’ll find several small, charming scenes worth capturing with your camera. Take time to sit on a bench and enjoy the tranquility by the river before continuing. Your next stop is another bridge – a perfect photo spot to play with lines, perspectives, and the backdrop of the mountains. Here you can create cool and atmospheric shots, whether portraits or landscapes.
The Viewpoint Vidsyn
Vidsyn is a modern viewpoint offering a spectacular panoramic view of the fjords, mountains, and valleys surrounding Førde. More than just a lookout, it is also an art installation created by Jan Freuchen, designed as a large concrete circle. Here you can sit down, breathe, and let the art enhance the experience of the landscape. Vidsyn merges nature and art in a unique way, making it a perfect final stop to end your photo walk with both peace and inspiration.
Shopping and City Life
After the experience at Vidsyn, you can walk back towards the town center. On the way, it’s nice to stop at Elvetorget and Alti. Here you can let the camera rest and enjoy city life – with a cup of coffee, a meal, or maybe some shopping before finishing your walk.
