How to get to Storavassbu:
The easiest way to get to Storavassbu is from Sauda to Storavassbu via Risvollia. This stage is 3.4 kilometres long and takes around 2 hours to walk, and is rated as moderately demanding. You start the hike at a fenced car park at Skeivaflåte, and walk along a gravel road to Nordstølen. Then walk gradually up the valley in a northerly direction, passing Hanaskar. Continue on a relatively flat path into the valley until you reach the southern end of Storavatnet. From there, follow a ledge along the water's edge and move inland towards some stone ruins on the east side of Storavatnet. The trail is well marked, but always bring a map, compass, good equipment and appropriate clothing.
