Avalanche course 2 days
Join BreogFjell for two days of avalanche training and get an introduction to how to find the best snow. For those of you with some experience with ski touring Here you will learn about avalanche danger, trip planning and buddy rescue using transmitter/receiver equipment.
This is the goal
The aim of the course is to make you aware of the factors that affect avalanche danger and how to travel as safely as possible in potentially avalanche-prone terrain. You will receive an introduction to snow knowledge, use of avalanche warnings, route selection in avalanche-prone terrain, driving patterns when skiing off-piste and training in buddy rescue using transmitter/receiver equipment. The course is practical and it is designed so that as many elements as possible are taken out in the terrain.

Equipment you need for this course
- Top touring skis, telemark skis, or splitboards
- Ski boots, poles and skins
- Transmitter/receiver, shovel and search rod
- 30-40L bag
- Ski goggles and sunglasses
- Food and drink
- Clothing for a day in the winter mountains.
- insulating underwear (preferably wool),
- wind/waterproof outerwear
- hat
- gloves/mittens
- insulation jacket (down, primaloft or wool)
- We recommend bringing a ski helmet.
