The Eiafossen Nature Trail is one of the most accessible short hikes in Romsdalen, bringing you into rugged mountain surroundings close to the Rauma River, the Eiafossen waterfall and the Troll Wall. Along the trail, information boards introduce you to local wildlife, geology and responsible travel in Norwegian nature.
The walk begins at the rest area next to the Troll Wall Visitor Centre. From here, the trail follows the railway line behind Trollveggen Station, before leading you through an underpass and into a calm, almost magical landscape with the Troll Wall rising above you.
This family-friendly hike is designed to suit a wide range of visitors. Parts of the route follow easy gravel paths, while other sections use boardwalks across uneven terrain and small streams. The trail takes you through quiet woodland, past the rushing Rauma River and the Eiafossen waterfall. At the same time, you enjoy striking views of the Troll Wall massif and get close to moss, trees and wildflowers. It’s a short, accessible walking trail that captures the essence of Romsdalen’s dramatic nature.
