The village is small, but rich in history and activities. Next to the beautiful sandy beach, you will find the distinctive cemetery and memorial chapel commemorating the St. Svithun disaster in the autumn of 1943. The ship was attacked and sunk by Allied aircraft, and many locals risked their lives to rescue the passengers on board.
Today, you will find everything from one of the largest longline fishing companies in Norway to well-run farms.
Ervik also offers great hiking opportunities, such as the hike to Hovden.
