Fjord Kayak – Folgefonni Breførarlag

Experience the fantastic fjord landscape up close - take part in a kayak tour on the Hardangerfjord! This tour is also suitable for those who have no previous kayaking experience. The starting point for the excursion is Juklafjord. Juklafjord is the base of the Folgefonni Glacier Team, directly by the fjord in the center of Jondal. From July to October, the guided fjord kayak tour is a daily offer. The excursion takes about 3-4 hours. It starts with the adaptation of the equipment and a detailed introduction to paddling techniques on the fjord. Once you have sufficient control of the kayak and know how to behave in the case of going round, the paddling tour continues out onto the fjord. Depending on the weather and waves, your guide will choose a suitable destination. Often, that is the beach "Jonaneset".

The lowest age limit for participation is 12 years. The Folgefonni Glacier Team provides all the necessary kayak equipment. The tour itself is not demanding, but if you have no paddling experience, it can take a while before you feel safe in the kayak. The introduction usually takes about half an hour. During the kayak tour, you might get a little wet, so wear clothes that will keep you warm, as wool or functional underwear. It is also advisable to have a change of clothes with you. At Juklafjord, you can change and take a shower if necessary.
