The mountain Goaldet at the island of Lepsøya is located a little north of Ålesund, and is a popular destination for local hikers. The peak is at only 490 m.a.s.l., but offers a great 360-view. Goaldet is also easy accessible for visitors, with good connections to Ålesund by passenger boat (apx 25 minutes) or the car ferry from Skjelten in Haram.

Once you're at Lepsøya, you'll find that the paths are very well marked, including the starting point in Fjellveien only a short distance from the harbour.

A popular alternative is to do a roundtrip from Goaldet to the mountain cave Rønstadhelleren, before returning back to the harbour along the road.
