Hike description

The trail begins from National Road 541, in outlying fields at the southernmost part of the Våge farm. Parking is available at Våge School. The trail is easy to walk. The first section follows a forest road, heading southwest for a short distance before turning westward toward Hellvik. The area features a small, scattered pine forest. Further west, the forest road ends, and the route continues along a marked path.

As you go, views open up toward the island of Hiskjo and out to the sea in the west. Upon reaching Hellvik, you'll encounter a beautiful cultural landscape with buildings and structures that have historically been used for both farming and fishing.

On historic ground

Våge is an old farm, mentioned several times in written sources from the 16th century. The farms of Hellvik and Upper and Lower Tverborgvik were part of the Våge estate until the early 1800s.
