Tour description

From Skrøyla, the hike takes you into the forest on a good path/carriageway. Along the way you have good views down to Fossmark and the Lysefjord. After about 1 kilometre, the landscape opens up and you meet the river, which is crossed on a narrow bridge. This is a good place to quench your thirst and take a short break before starting the ascent. The cairned path first runs on bare bedrock, then through heather moorland and dense vegetation. At times the path is quite steep.

As you gain height, the landscape changes character. Here it is the bedrock that dominates. You pass small idyllic hawthorns. At the top, there is a great view of parts of the Lysefjord. Neverdalsfjellet with Preikestolen, Hengjane and Bratteli lies directly opposite on the other side of the fjord. The return journey follows the same route.

Trail: Marked. Carriageway and path. length: The return trip goes the same way, or on a path towards Griggelia for a small round trip. 3 hours round trip
