Take a trip to the beautiful day trip cabin in Etne

Leiteshaugen is marked as "Litle Urdahaugen" on many maps, but locally, people simply call it Leiteshaugen.

Distance and duration

The hike from the parking lot to the cabin is about 1.5 km and takes approximately 20–30 minutes.

Access and parking

From Etne town center, drive about 1.5 km east along E134 in the direction of Oslo. Turn right just before the bridge over Etneelva and follow Fv37 Fossavegen for about 2 km.

Turn right onto Rusvegen, a steep gravel road, and drive about 4 km to the parking lot. Rusvegen and the parking area are privately owned, and there is a parking fee of NOK 40, which can be paid via Vipps. Follow the marked trail from the parking lot.

From the parking lot, most of the path is a gravel road, with the last 150 meters being a trail. There are plans to build a wheelchair- and stroller-accessible path for the final section. The first part of the route has an uphill climb.

Facilities

There is a toilet, and the cabin has a wood stove.
