Overview
From the parking lot there is a quality gravel road, Isvegen, to the intersection 500 meters before Lake Bondhusvatnet. From here on the restored riding path up Hillerslia for 18 hairpin turns to Gardshammarsetra mountain farm, and further up to a bridge by Lake Botnavatnet. Continue on a partly built path in screes and high mountains to the cabin Breidablikk, which is unmanned and has four beds. It takes approx. 1 hour from here to the glacier center Fonnabu, which is unmanned and has 27 beds.
This is the most used way up to Folgefonna Glacier, that includes the extraordinary experience of "From Fjord To Glacier". The cabins Breidablikk and Fonnabu are owned by Bergen turlag and are maintained by Kvinnherad turlag.

Glacier guiding over Folgefonna:
To get onto the glacier, you need to have the necessary equipment and experience. A satisfactory alternative could be a walk in the mountains along the glacier. The guided glacier tour can be booked via bookinglink on this page. You can also book a guide from Sundal and up to Fonnabu over the glacier to Holmaskjer(Odda).
