About

A trip on Rauma Railway is a unique opportunity to experience one of the most spectacular scenic areas in Norway. Rauma Railway goes between Åndalsnes and Dombås with four daily departures all year, and the trip takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. The experience can easily be combined with a trainride on Dovrebanen, between Oslo and Trondheim. If you are aleready in Møre og Romsdal, you can choose a shorter trip from Åndalsnes to Bjorli, a fantastic trip from fjord to mountain in one hour.

All the trains that run on Rauma Railway are modern and comfortable, with airconditioning to make your journey as pleasant as possible. The train also contain a toilet and a wheelchair elevator.

Stations on the Rauma Railway: Åndalsnes-Bjorli-Lesjaverk-Lesja-Dombås

Altitude: 655 metres
Length: 114 km
Tunnels: 6, amongst them the 1340 metres long horse shoe tunnel of Stavem
Bridges: 32

Attractions along the Rauma Line

At Bjorli station you can walk for 1 km to visit the climbing park Høyt og Lavt Bjorli. This is fun for the entire family. A perfect day-tour where you can combine the sightseeing on the Rauma Line with climbing fun in Bjorli.

At Lesja station you can visit the Lesja Open air museum and Lesja Church. This is a uniqe chance to see old Norwegian culture and living for centuries, and you also learn more about the National Park of Reinheimen. Open during summer.

I have been wanting to take this train for a while now, being a Potterhead. I loved that they gave you notice when something was coming up, and even slowed the train when we came to the big falls. Read full review
