Rosendal Avlsgard & Fruehuset is part of Baroniet Rosendal Manor House & Gardens. The accomodation is just outside the beautiful park which surrounds the only Barony in Norway.

Season: may-september.

24 rooms, 40 beds. The stud farm was built round 1850 and has had its function as a scientific farm. Besides breeding sheep and fjording horses, the baron also ran a school for the children of the village on this farm. The stud farm is still active in sheep breeding, and Kvinnherad Post Chaise Society, which has its seat on the farm, keeps up the traditions in using the fjording horse. The main building was restored in 1992 and is used as a guest-house. The standard is correct and in good taste considering the era from which the farm dates. The Fruehuset (Lady house) is 200 yards from the main house, and has been restored in the same tasteful standard. Breakfast and dinner is served in "the old kitchen" at the stud farm. Shower and toilet in tasteful common facility.
