The barony is unique in Norway. Baroniet Rosendal is known, among other things, for its magnificent renaissance gardens with its abundance of roses, and romantic landscaped park and surrounding cultural landscape. The cultural programme, which is announced each year in March, includes concerts, a courtyard theatre, a chamber music festival and art exhibitions. Accommodation with breakfast and dinner in the Avlsgård & Fruehus is available from May to September.

Fjords, mountains and glaciers

Rosendal is surrounded by beautiful countryside, rich agriculture and towering mountains. The village is the starting point for many incredible hikes, with Melderskin, Skålafjell and Malmangernuten mountains among the most popular.For those arriving by boat there is a guest harbour in the centre of Rosendal. In Skålagato street there are lovely cafes, shops and hotels.
