Like a white pearl by the water’s edge in Våge, you’ll find Mandelhuset. The three old white houses with green trim on the historic steamship quay were once a general store and a docking point for fjord boats. Today, the place has been transformed into a warm and cozy restaurant, where the kitchen uses Norwegian ingredients to create delicious dining experiences for you and your loved ones.
The current owners have run Mandelhuset since 2005, but the restaurant itself was founded in 1995 when the general store closed in 1994 after operating since 1923. As the hosts put it: "Our mission is to be a great restaurant and meeting place on Tysnes. We want to do our part to make Tysnes a wonderful place to live and visit."

- Thursday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM (bar open until 11:00 PM)
- Saturday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (bar open until 11:00 PM)
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
During the summer season (mid-June to mid-August), the restaurant is open daily.
