Bjørn Eidsvåg – Summer 2026
After half a century in the music industry, Bjørn Eidsvåg stands as a towering figure in Norwegian music. For decades he has performed around 80 concerts every single year, in all corners of the country. After a busy autumn and winter with concerts and a new show, he is now ready to take on the festival stages in the summer of 2026.
In the autumn of 2025, Bjørn is featured in the stage production “Bjørn og Bjarte – den tøffe og den sarte” (“Bjørn and Bjarte – the tough one and the tender one”), together with TV host and comedian Bjarte Tjøstheim, a show that is touring to sold-out venues across Norway. Even after a long and accomplished career, Bjørn continues to stay relevant with new projects and creative ventures. Following his participation in TV2’s “Hver gang vi møtes” in 2023—where both his own interpretations and the other artists’ interpretations of his songs topped the charts—Bjørn was inspired to “renovate” his own songs in new musical outfits. Shortly after the success of the show, he entered into a collaboration with star producer Carl-Viktor Guttormsen, 40 years his junior, who produced Emma Steinbakken’s version of Floden, which went straight to number one and became the most-played song on Spotify in Norway in 2023. Since then, Bjørn, together with producers Carl-Viktor Guttormsen and Anders Kjær, has released a number of new songs—including new versions of classics such as Skyfri himmel, Ringdans, and Tør ikkje leva.
Since his debut in 1971, Bjørn has released 28 albums, performed around 80 concerts annually, published a book, hosted his own TV and radio programmes, and taken to the stage at Det Norske Teatret with his original theatre production “Etterlyst: Jesus”—to name just a few highlights. Generations of Norwegians have a deep connection to his beloved songs such as Skyfri himmel and Eg ser. His curiosity for new musical expressions has also led to many exciting collaborations with well-known artists from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark over the years, including the duet “Mysteriet deg” with Lisa Nilsson. The song won the Spellemann Award for “Song of the Year” and has over 15 million streams on Spotify.
In 2024, Bjørn turned 70 and was surprised in a packed Oslo Spektrum with the tribute concert “Ingen veg tilbake” (“No Way Back”), which was broadcast on NRK1 and became the sixth most-watched NRK programme of the year. Later that same year, he embarked on a major anniversary tour by the same name, breaking sales records with over 25,000 tickets sold even before the tour began. In the autumn of 2024, Bjørn and his long career and contributions to Norwegian music were further honoured with induction into the Rockheim Hall of Fame.
