Dan Smalley has a voice that brings to mind some of the greatest artists in the genre. A military kid, born in Alaska and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, he sings with deep conviction and offers a fresh take on country music, inspired by and infused with the sounds of his roots. Artists such as Merle Haggard, Ray Charles, Al Green and Willie Nelson have been key musical influences, and the success of Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson drew him to Nashville.
