Frøkedal & Familien have made a mark with their distinctive folk-pop that draws heavily from both rock and folk music. You shouldn't miss the concert at Høvleriet, where Frøkedal & Familien will present new and old hits in a full-family format. In addition to Frøkedal herself, the band will include Olav Christer Rossebø (fiddles, mandola), Selma French Bolstad (fiddles, vocals), Erlend Ringseth (keys), and Elisabeth Mørland Nesset (drums, vocals).

On June 7th, the album STAY will be released – a musical antidote to wanderlust, restlessness, and the nagging fear of missing out, according to the band. With STAY, Frøkedal has dug deep into local musical treasures, crafted sing-along rock, and seamlessly fused pure pop songs with asymmetric polka rhythms. STAY is about those who stay, about daring to believe that what can make us happy might not be somewhere else, but right here, right now. It is an album about love and pain, roots and community.

"This is Anne Lise Frøkedal at her most uncompromising, and at her best, most epic, roughest, and most beautiful, where her own guitar carves through rock history with sharp strings from prog rock, country, and Americana, into the British 90s sphere where one more than senses the outline of a rocking PJ Harvey." (Geir Rakvaag of Dagsavisen on the first single, Old Mistakes, rating 6/6).

Frøkedal & Familien have received warm praise from The New Yorker and The Sunday Times, performed live on BBC Radio 6, and received two Spellemann nominations. They have also had a taste of arena formats, opening for A-ha and Madrugada at Oslo Spektrum. Recently, they toured England as special guests for Scottish band Teenage Fanclub. Frøkedal & Familien have also created a songbook. In the introduction, they write: "Music is a unifying force that gives us all access to the extended spectrum of emotions, memories, and visions. Therefore, we are laying all the cards on the table here so that anyone who wishes can get closer to these songs – or even play them themselves."
