Jo Nesbø made his breakthrough as a vocalist and songwriter in Di Derre, with classics such as ‘Jenter’ and ‘Rumba med Gunn (1-2-3)’. The band defined much of Norwegian pop music in the 1990s. He has since pursued an active solo career, often accompanied by bassist Lars Jones.
World-renowned author and storyteller
In addition to his music, Nesbø has achieved enormous success as the author of the Harry Hole crime series, which has made him one of the world's most widely read crime writers.
A close musical collaboration
What started as a one-off event has developed into a permanent collaboration between Nesbø and Jones. The duo creates atmosphere with simple instruments – guitar, bass, harmonica and two voices – and offers humour, reflection and warm moments.
Lars Jones – a versatile musician
Lars Jones is known as a sought-after musician, both live and in the studio. He has collaborated with artists such as Anne Grete Preus, Dronning Mauds Land, Grete Svensen and Di Derre, and has also released the solo album Raindrops to the Desert (1996).
