The Amanda Award ceremony
The Amanda Award, which is Norway's answer to the Oscars, is awarded every year at this festival. Festiviteten in Haugesund is decked out for a party, the red carpet is rolled out and the Norwegian film industry meets to celebrate great achievements in the past year. The statuette to be awarded is designed by sculptor Kristian Kvakland and will be produced and supplied by local company Olaussen Metall. The number of categories and prizes awarded varies from year to year.

Film festival exhibition
Haugesund Kunstforening, Haugesund Bildgalleri (Haugalandmuseet) and the Norwegian International Film Festival present an annual film festival exhibition. Previous exhibitors have included Steffen Kverneland, Ann Cathrin November Høibo, Anna Marie Sigmond Gudmundsdottir, Annette Kierulf and Caroline Kierulf. The selected artist will have their own exhibition at Haugesund Billedgalleri during and for a period after the Film Festival.
