Thrice is a new dance performance in three parts, created by choreographer Damien Jalet and presented by Nagelhus Schia Productions. The performance explores the interplay between body, power and movement, inspired by wind, stone and water.
World-class choreography
Damien Jalet is considered one of the most sought-after choreographers internationally, with an extensive portfolio in both performing arts and film. In Thrice, the dancer is clearly placed at the centre through physically demanding sequences, technical precision and a poetic form of expression that has thrilled audiences on tour in Europe.
Gusts – air and movement
The first part, Gusts, is accompanied by specially composed music by Bendik Giske. Here, the dancers are carried through the room as if by gusts of wind, in an expression that emphasises breath, flow and unpredictability.
Médusées – gaze and petrification
The second part of the performance draws inspiration from Greek mythology. Three male and three female dancers engage in an intense interaction where the themes of seeing and being seen are central, and where movement balances between protection and resistance.
Brise-lames – encountering the waves
The finale, Brise-lames, is set to original music by Koki Nakano. Here, the dancers perform as a unified force, battling their surroundings, where rhythm and interaction create a grand and cohesive expression.

Thrice is part of the Concert Hall Director's selection and can be experienced as part of a package with the performances Show Pony – Nysirkus and Sawdust Symphony – Snekker circus. A powerful dance experience for audiences seeking contemporary dance of the highest quality.
