In the old colonial building in Værlandet you´ll find Hamnaholmen, a charming little café, pub and shop.

The Hamnaholmen Colonial

The building that houses Hamnaholmen was built in the 1930s, and was built in the center of the herring fishery. The islet on which the house is located has a fish market for dogfish and mackerel sturgeon. On the ground floor where Hamnaholmen now stands, there was a farm shop when the house was built. Later, in the 1970s, the grocery store was converted into a supermarket.

Where is Hamnaholmen located

Hamnaholmen is located close to Værlandet Guest harbor in Værlandet, about 1.5 kilometers from Værlandet ferry quay. From the mainland Askvoll, take the ferry that runs from Askvoll to Værlandet. The ferry journey takes about one hour and is a beautiful journey between mighty mountains and coastal landscapes. At Værlandet you´ll find several accommodation centers where you experience the beautiful Island communities of Værlandet and Bulandet.
