Lanullva wool products

If you drive via Eide, you will pass the head office and sales point of Lanullva, a manufacturer of woollen clothing. Lanullva has developed a particular method for its woollen clothes – the world's warmest knitting method, specially adapted to the conditions in north-western Norway. If you stop at Brygga in Lyngstad, you can buy the popular knitwear in the shop.

The Atlantic Road

Twelve minutes' drive from Lanullva lies the road stretch called the world's most beautiful road trip. The road meanders like a sea serpent over islets and reefs, with the vast ocean straight in! This road is featured in several international film and TV productions, including James Bond and Succession.

The walking path Svevestien on Eldhusøya

On Eldhusøya island, you can stop and walk the 700-metre-long walkway Svevestien following the seashore. The walkway is made of latticework floating above the terrain, secured on poles. Here, you will be awarded fantastic views on a trip suitable for everyone. Eldhusøya is also a popular stop for photographing the iconic Storseisund Bridge.

Farstadsanden

If you drive the western road facing the sea on your trip back to Molde, you should visit Farstadsanden – a white, sandy beach by the infamous stretch of sea at Hustadvika. This idyllic beach is ideally situated between farms and coastal scenery, and young and old come here to swim, go for a walk, surf, or kite. This easily accessible area is free to use, and the bay is protected as a nature reserve.

Askevågen lookout point

A beautiful photo stop at Askevågen, where you get in close contact with the Atlantic Ocean and can feel the fierce forces of nature. Here lies an old breakwater – the last redoubt against the harsh and unsheltered cove Hustadvika. A viewpoint with the shape of a narrow platform has been constructed at the far end, jutting out over the sea and giving you a feeling of standing in the middle of nature.

Bud fishing village

Further along the coastal road, you will reach Bud. The authentic fishing village lies at the far end of the Romsdal coast in Hustadvika, with charming sea houses and boathouses in the old harbour. Take your time and walk around the area on foot. The winding streets between the old houses tell the story of a tough life on the coast. Bud also houses the Ergan Coastal Fort, a war history museum built around the German coastal fort from the Second World War.

Restaurant Bryggjen in Bud

Before returning to Molde, you should end your journey with a visit to Bryggjen in Bud. This restaurant focuses on seafood but also offers traditional meat dishes. The restaurant is run as a buffet, where you can enjoy delicious food and the view of the harbour and the ocean. If you like and are not hurrying to drive back, you can also spend the night in a sea house.
