The relatively easy access, combined with gentle and lush terrain, makes Grøvudalshytta suitable for hikers of all ages. In Grøvudalen, you can find 85% of all the mountain plants present in Norway.

Follow the road from Gjøra in Sunndalen via Hafsås to Røymo. From here, drive about 2 km on a toll road to Hallen in Sunndal. From there, the easiest route to the cabin is a 7 km walk on a flat and easy trail.

From Grøvudalshytta, marked hiking trails lead to Aursjøhytta, Raubergshytta, Vangshaugen, Gammelsetra, Loennechenbua, and Åmotdalshytta.

Total number of beds:

  • 20–30 beds in the main house
  • 8 beds in the storehouse
  • 2 beds in the living room

When visiting Grøvudalshytta, you can also stop by Inner Gammelsetra in Grøvudalen. This is a full-production summer farm in the Sunndalsfjella, run by young people aged 15–30 during the summer months. Guests get close to the animals, and those participating in the farm courses also help with animal care, including activities like milking and production.
