From 2013 to 2018, the company organised the annual stage race Tour des Fjords. The company expanded its portfolio in 2018 by establishing the Hammer Stavanger race.
Following the 2018 season, the company acquired the rights to the Tour of Norway cycling race from Interspons. The company merged the two races into one major stage race under the joint name Tour of Norway. In connection with this development, the company changed its name to Fjords Cycling AS to reflect the new organisational structure and ownership, which today is 100% owned by voluntary cycling clubs.
In recent years, the company has evolved from being purely a cycling race organiser into becoming a broad and solid player within sports, experiences, and talent development in the region. In 2022, Fjords Cycling took over the operations of the cycling team Team Drali – Repsol. The company has also established a shared ownership in Norway Bike Experience, and has expanded its portfolio beyond cycling by organising Sirdal Løpefest (Sirdal Running Festival). Furthermore, since 2025, the company has managed the traditional Nordsjørittet, and in 2026, it additionally took over the company Lavterskel AS.
The Tour des Fjords cycling race was first organised in the autumn of 2013 as a further development of the Rogaland Grand Prix (organised 2008–2012). On the initiative of former professional cyclist Roy Hegreberg, it was expanded from a one-day race to a multi-day stage race. Over the years, the race has grown in close cooperation with TV2, private and public funding, and a massive amount of volunteers. Alongside the professional races, children's races and recreational races have traditionally been organised, including events like the Tour des Fjords Experience and Haute Route Norway.
The race has consolidated its position as Scandinavia's only top-level stage race (UCI ProSeries) for both women and men. In 2025, Norwegian cycling history was made when the men's and women's races were organised side by side. As of 2026, Norwegian cycling legend Alexander Kristoff takes over the role of Race Director.
