The hike to Lifjell in Sandnes is nice - Lysefjorden Adventure describes the tour as a mountain peak tour in "the middle of the city"! The hike starts from Dale in Sandnes and follows a path through varied nature up to the top. Once you arrive at the peak, you can enjoy views of Stavanger and the north of the region, the North Sea, as well as the city islands. There are two alternatives to the hike: either with the starting point at Dale as described here, or a slightly easier alternative that follows a gravelled route up to the top.
