Learn how to move safely in steep winter terrain, on ice, snow and rock. On this 3-day winter course, you'll get basic and advanced climbing technique, anchoring methods and roped-team routines, tailored to your level and the local conditions in Romsdalen.

About the course

Romsdal Lodge runs this climbing course over three days, focused on climbing, anchoring and technique on ice, snow and rock. The course is adapted to conditions and to the participants' skills and goals, and you'll spend much of the time out on the climbing terrain.

Day by day

Day 1: Course start and introductions at Romsdal Lodge. You'll go through the course plan and the equipment you'll need, before heading out to a climbing area with rock, snow and ice.

Day 2: A new climbing area, focused on climbing technique, placing ice screws and anchors, roped-team routines, belay stances and rappelling.

Day 3: You'll put what you've learned into practice on a multi-pitch climb, often covering ice, rock and snow.
