How do I get to Sørefjordhytta?
Drive from Hyllestad towards Leirvik/Rysjedalsvika. After approximately 3.5 km, you will reach a junction where you turn towards Birkeland. Continue for around 1.5 km before turning towards Akse. After approximately 1 km, you will arrive at the signposted car park for the day trip cabin.
Season
The day trip cabin is open all year round. In winter, the trail may be covered in snow and ice, and you should assess whether the conditions are suitable for your experience and ability. We do not recommend this hike for inexperienced hikers when there is snow or ice on the trail.
Hike to the Day Trip Cabin
The walk to the cabin takes approximately 25 minutes. Follow the farm track past Veslelia farm. From there, the trail continues through woodland and across smooth rock and ridges. The distance from Akse to the cabin is approximately 1 km.
From the day trip cabin, you can continue hiking to Hesjetinden.
