Hesjetinden rises 480 metres above sea level and offers stunning views of the Åfjorden and the dramatic Lihesten mountain. This is a hike that suits the whole family – all year round.

Where is Hesjetinden?

Hesjetinden is located in Hyllestad municipality, on the northern side of the Sognefjord. It’s easy to get here by car, or by taking the express boat that runs between Bergen and the Sognefjord/Bergen and Selje.

Where does the hike start?

The hike to Hesjetinden begins at Akse, where you'll find a good parking area. From here, you can combine the hike with a stop at the Sørefjordhytta day-trip cabin before continuing to the summit. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the cabin, and another 30 minutes from there to the top of Hesjetinden.
