The premises of the farm outlet were previously those of the local grocery shop, Dirdal Handelslag, established in 1908. The building itself is probably more than 200 years old.

Its location in the Høgsfjord in Dirdal is spectacular and powerful

Dirdalstraen Gardsutsalg Farm Shop is beautifully situated by the quay in Dirdal. Dirdal lies within the heart of Høgsfjorden and is a great place for those who want to enjoy powerful nature experiences with spectacular views and sunsets. The farm shop building was originally built in Lysebotn and was moved to Dirdal by the merchant Nerabø in the mid-19th century. Trade has now been conducted within these premises for almost 200 years, and Bente and Tore Hommeland are proud to continue this tradition. In 2020, they took over the farm from Bente's family and now continue to run the business. They have cattle, sheep and goats on the farm and pay attention to animal welfare and sustainable production.

Shopping locally contributes to vibrant settlements

When you visit the farm shop and shop there, you get authentic, pure, local produce of very high quality. All the meat is local, either from their farm or from the neighbouring farm. Shopping locally contributes to keeping communities alive in Norway. It creates jobs and has several positive domino effects for the villages. When you shop at Dirdalstraen Gardsutsalg, you are also helping to maintain life in both the village of Dirdal and the history of Dirdal.
