The trip starts in Egersund, the colourful wooden town, known for its lively centre and maritime atmosphere. You cycle out of town on small roads through agricultural landscapes, past old stone fences and traditional farmyards.
Along the sea
Gradually, the landscape opens up towards the sea, and you get a panoramic view of the Egersund harbour, Vandringshavn and the round skerries that characterise the area. The stretch towards Hestnes is slightly hilly, but accessible to most people – perfect for a leisurely day trip.
Hestnes – where the sea takes over
At the end of the trip lies Hestnes – an open and weather-beaten landscape where you can really feel the forces of nature. Here you can take a break by the sea, feel the sea breeze and perhaps spot seabirds and seals along the coast. If you have brought a packed lunch, this is a fantastic place for a picnic with a view of the North Sea.
