Kveldsturhytta on Tuftelandsfjellet is a beautiful day trip cabin with panoramic views of Fitjar, the sea, and the nearby wind farm. Here you’ll enjoy a 360° nature experience, and inside the cabin you'll find a cosy fireplace – perfect for warming up and relaxing after your hike. Located high and free, it's an ideal spot to enjoy the sunset or a peaceful coffee break.
Hiking route
The hike to Kveldsturhytta starts at the parking lot by Tveit. Drive up to the parking area at the beginning of the tractor road. Note that there is a parking fee, which can easily be paid via Vipps.
The trail is approximately 3.5 km long, starting with a tractor road and ending with a footpath. Be mindful of local wildlife and always close gates behind you.
This is a great hike for both children and adults – a lovely destination to enjoy the view, bring a packed lunch, and maybe light the fireplace on colder days.
Can you stay overnight in the cabin?
The cabin is open all year round, but as with other day trip cabins, overnight stays are not allowed.
Is there a toilet by the cabin?
At present, there is no toilet at Kveldsturhytta, so please plan accordingly.
Accessibility
The trail is partially on a tractor road, but the final stretch is a footpath and not universally accessible. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers all the way to the cabin.
Parking
You can park at the starting point near Tveit. Drive up and park before starting the hike along the tractor road. From there, it’s about a 45–60 minute walk depending on your pace.
