Fjellro is one of four day trip cabins in Sunnfjord Municipality. It is located at Hjellasva, just over halfway along the trail between Skei and Fygladalen. From the cabin, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Jølstravatnet and the surrounding landscape.

How to get to Fjellro

The hike starts in the centre of Skei and takes approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail is easy to follow and suitable for most visitors looking for a short and rewarding hike.

Who is the hike suitable for?

Fjellro is a low-threshold destination for anyone who wants to enjoy nature, take a break, or have a packed lunch sheltered from the weather. Inside the cabin, you'll find a wood-burning stove and a Nynorsk library with books for both children and adults – perfect for a relaxing break before continuing your hike or returning to Skei.

Please note that overnight stays are not permitted in the cabin.

About the Day Trip Cabins

The day trip cabins are a collaboration between Vestland County Council, Sparebankstiftinga Sogn og Fjordane, Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, and the local municipalities. They are open to everyone and invite visitors to enjoy nature throughout the year.
