On the way to Nedstrand, the local guide will take you through Haugesund's history from the Viking Age to the rise of Haugesund as a herring town in the 19th century, up until Haugesund today, with its world-class industry and technology.

On arrival in Nedstrand, you start the hike to the spectacular Himakånå mountain formation, 357 metres above sea level. This rock formation is often referred to as Trolltunga's little sister, as it is easier to hike, more family-friendly and easier to access. The hike to the top is about two kilometres and takes about one hour each way. The route is on a relatively steep gravel trail that will keep your feet dry all the way to Himakånå. There are fantastic views from the top and you’ll soon realise why this is such a popular place to take photos. There’s time here to catch your breath, take some photos and enjoy your packed lunch.
