A spectacular trip with views of Eresfjord and Eikesdalsvannet on one side, and the well-known Romsdal mountains on the other. The views and impressions on the way to the top are among the best in the area. The descent often offers very good conditions, as the slope is usually somewhat sheltered.
Tour description:
Drive to the top of Vistdalsheia. From here, head south along the west side of Uglehaugen. After about 1.2 km, go east up into the saddle between Uglehaugen and the ridge up to Kvitfjellet. From here, follow the ridge to reach the summit. Note! Be careful when approaching the top not to go too far east, as there is often a large cornice to avoid. Return west towards Horndalen and back to the road.
Special considerations:
It can be useful to use two cars so you don’t have to hike back up to retrieve the car at the top of Vistdalsheia after descending.
