The trip begins at the innermost part of Vågen in Stavanger, following a brief safety briefing. The boat trip starts gently so that everyone has time to settle in and familiarise themselves with the boat. Gradually, the skipper increases the speed, and the boat settles into a comfortable cruising speed of around 35 knots.
What can you expect on a RIB trip to Lysefjorden?
On the way to Lysefjorden, you’ll pass several idyllic spots in the archipelago, such as Flataskjæret, Kalvøy, Teistholmen and Tingholmen. In Høgsfjorden, there are several salmon farms that you’ll speed past. There you can often see sea eagles soaring along the mountains, or perched on a rock waiting for their next meal. There are also several nests in the area where the sea eagles breed. After passing the Lysefjord Bridge, more attractions await, such as the Vagabond's Cave, Preikestolen and the waterfall, Hengjanefossen.
If you wish to go on this trip outside the scheduled times, you can book your own private tour for you and your travel companions.
