Dalsfjorden is a narrow arm of the fjord that stretches through the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, and Sunnfjord. The fjord is a continuation of the Vilnesfjord and is a total of 43 kilometers long. At the bottom of the fjord, the mighty river Gaula flows out.
Dalsfjorden is surrounded by great hiking terrain. Here you can, among other things, visit Fossedalen, travel on a guided RIB safari to the mighty Laukelandsfossen, or enjoy the spectacular panoramic view from Heileberget, 761 meters above the fjord. The fjord is also perfect for kayak trips or twilight trips with Bakkejekta - a copy of Norway´s oldest preserved wooden boat, from around 1750.
