Eigerøy Lighthouse was built in 1853–54 in modules at Bærums Verk and transported to Eigerøy. It is 32.9 metres high, with 134 steps to the lantern. The lighthouse is reinforced internally with 70,000 bricks to withstand severe weather and wind. In 1998, the lighthouse station was listed, including buildings, roads and the surrounding area.
How to get to Eigerøy Lighthouse?
- Follow Route 502 from Egersund and turn right after Eigerøy Bridge, signposted from Segleim.
- Park at Nautasundet and walk 2 kilometres along the footpath to the lighthouse.
- Along the trail, there are 7 geostops informing about the rock type anorthosite.
- The restored lighthouse keeper's residence has a café open on Sundays during the summer season.

Yes, Eigerøy Bird Station was established in 1991 by the Norwegian Ornithological Society, the Dalane local chapter. The station records birds on the entire Midtbrødøya island throughout the year and is a popular place for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
Are dogs allowed?
No, dogs are not allowed on the trail to the lighthouse from 15 March to 15 October.
